Kansas Memory

Listen to stories of Kansans - some famous and some just average folks - that are contained in documents preserved by the Kansas Historical Society Library and Archives. The letters, diaries and other documents used in Kansas Memory podcasts provide fascinating glimpses into the past by sharing the words of the people who lived through these events.

Spencer Museum of Art: Art Minute

The Spencer Museum of Art and Kansas Public Radio produce the Spencer Art Minute, an ongoing series of 90-second programs that provides listeners with quick peeks into the Spencer Museum of Art's permanent collection.

Podcast FAQs

What is podcasting?
Podcasting is the latest in on-the-go, on-demand technology. With podcasting, you can listen to or watch programs whenever and wherever you choose. Podcasts are MP3 audio files or MP4 video files that are automatically downloaded to your computer, and then tranferred to an iPod or other MP3/MP4 player using a podcasting application.

What equipment do I need?
The basic requirements for podcasting are a computer (PC or Mac), podcasting software and an Internet connection. For portability, an iPod or other MP3/MP4 player is needed (you will need a video-capable player to play any video podcasts).

How do I get started?
Simply download and install podcasting software onto your computer. Some free podcasting software you might consider are iTunes (best choice if you are new to podcasting) or Juice. Although applications vary, each should provide instructions on how to add podcast feeds to your list. Then, just check for the new podcasts and files of your selected programs that will be on your computer and, if you are set up, on your MP3/MP4 player.

What if I already have a podcast application?
Simply copy the URL at the top of the webpage into your podcasting software. New podcasts will be added, so be sure to check back often for all the latest available podcasts.
