The Kansas Arts Commission, in partnership with KCArtistLink and Wichita State University’s Center for Entrepreneurship, announce an eight-week seminar program available to Kansas artists.
Artist, INC is a cutting-edge training seminar that addresses the specific business needs and challenges artists of all disciplines face every day.
Limited to 24 participants, selected Kansas artists will gather for once a week for eight weeks in Wichita to learn business skills specific to their art practice and apply those skills cooperatively with their peers.
Using an innovative class design, artists learn and grow together through artist-facilitator mentoring, small-group activities, large-group discussion and multi-media presentations.
Why you should participate:
Participating artists will gain:
Tools and skills in arts planning, marketing, finance, law, and technology;
An increased knowledge of and ability to access local and national art business resources;
A strategic plan for pursuing, marketing and sustaining their art; and
A network of cross-discipline, diverse artists to provide peer learning and support into the future.
Seminar fee:
If you are selected to participate, you will pay a $70 fee. An installment plan for payment by credit card is available.
Participants are required to attend all sessions of the seminar, barring illness or emergency. Please review the seminar schedule to be sure that you are available for all of the sessions.
Applicants will be notified of participant decisions in late-December 2010.
"I greatly appreciate all the support that this city has given me as well as the efforts that Artist, INC has provided to myself and the KC arts community. I honestly believe if I had not taken part in the Artist, INC program that I would have not gotten to where I am now as quickly as I did. Thank you!"
