The Surdna Foundation Fellowships to High School Arts Teachers
Deadline: Letter of intent due November 12, 2010
The Surdna Foundation announces the 11th round of the Surdna Arts Teachers Fellowship Program, a national initiative to support the artistic revitalization of outstanding arts teachers. Eligible teachers can apply for grants of up to $5,500 in support of artistic growth, with a complementary grant of $1,500 provided to each fellow’s school for post-fellowship activities. Details.
College Board Award for Excellence and Innovation in the Arts
Deadline: November 15, 2010
The College Board announces a new award recognizing the achievements of six K–12 member schools that have implemented arts programs to promote student learning and creativity in exemplary and innovative ways. One school from each of the College Board's six regions will be recognized as a finalist and awarded a grant of $3,000 to support the continuation and growth of its arts programs. The Kennedy Center/Stephen Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Awards
Deadline: December 15, 2010
Created in honor of Stephen Sondheim’s 80th birthday through the generous support of Freddie and Myrna Gershon, the awards publicly recognize the contributions of specific teachers and rewards them for their dedication and service. By spotlighting the extraordinary impact teachers have on the lives of their students, the awards celebrate the teaching profession, the important role of teachers in society, and seeks to inspire others to pursue this noble profession. Along with the Award, the selected teachers will be showcased on the Kennedy Center website and will receive $10,000 in appreciation for their inspiration in the field of teaching. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 2011 Institutional Grants

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is now taking applications for its Institutional Grants Program. The program fosters educational activities between the public and the film industry while encouraging the appreciation of motion pictures as both an art form and a vocation. Institutional grants are awarded to nonprofit film organizations and to film programs within accredited schools, colleges, universities and other institutions and nonprofit organizations. The 2011 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers invites grades 7–12 to participate in the 2011 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for the opportunities of recognition, exhibition, publication and scholarships. Students can submit in 30 categories, including drawing, painting, photography, film and animation, video games, poetry, personal essay, short story and humor. Click here for more information.

Fender Music Foundation Grants

The Fender Music Foundation accepts applications throughout the year from nonprofit or government organizations for instruments and equipment. Eligible applicants are established, ongoing and sustainable music programs in the United States, which provide music instruction for people of any age who would not otherwise have the opportunity to make music.
