Kansas Arts Commission

Kansas Artist Fellowships and Awards

Artist Innovation and Collaboration Grants

The Kansas Arts Commission is making a renewed commitment to support artists in their artistic and business endeavors. For Fiscal Year 2011, we have reformulated the artist fellowship program and will now support projects that help artists forward their careers artistically or through business development, and work collaboratively with artists or with communities.

Click here for guidelines and program details.

Application deadline is June 17, 2010.

Note: These grant programs have replaced the Kansas Arts Commission Fellowship and Awards Program for Fiscal Year 2011.

The Kansas Artist Fellowships and Awards recognize artistic merit, sustained achievement and excellence in all art disciplines. In 2009, 56 applications were received in the categories of Master Artist Fellowships, Mid-Career Fellowships and Emerging Artist Awards.

Since 1989, the Kansas Arts Commission has awarded 144 fellowships. These honors are determined through panel review and Commission consideration.

Recipients of 2009 Kansas Artist Fellowships and Awards were honored by legislators and Kansas Arts Commissioners at a reception on March 4, in Topeka.

Guidelines and applications for the 2010-11 Fellowships and Awards are currently under review by the Commission.

More information will be available in March 2010.
