How to Submit an
Arts Organization Nomination

1. Download the appropriate nomination form and requirements. The nomination form is available in both PDF and Word formats.

2. Carefully complete the nomination form according to the information provided in these guidelines. All contact information must be current and complete.

3. Use 12-point, Times New Roman font and 1” margins in the narrative portion of the materials. Hand-written nomination forms, forms with type smaller than 12-point, or forms that do not contain the information within the space permitted will not be considered.

4. Collate all materials in the order listed on the checklist (requirements) for the category in which you are submitting a nomination. They must be submitted in the requested order. Use clips to bind your nomination packet; no staples, folders or binders, please.

5. Send the original nomination form along with seven identical copies to the Kansas Arts Commission. Your complete nomination will contain eight complete, identical stand-alone sets of the nomination materials. Each set must include all support materials.

6. All materials submitted become the property of the Commission and will not be returned.

7. Nominations must have an official US Postal Service postmark no later than September 16, 2010. Metered mail is not acceptable as a postmark.

8. Hand-delivered nominations, nominations delivered by Federal Express, UPS or other private mail services, or nominations mailed for overnight delivery must arrive in the Kansas Arts Commission office by 5:00 pm on September 16, 2010.

The Kansas Arts Commission is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail. We suggest that nominators receive a post office or mail service receipt when sending nominations. Kansas Arts Commission staff will notify nominees by email of receipt of nominations.

If nominations are incomplete, the Kansas Arts Commission will notify nominators. Nominators have two weeks after notification to respond to deficiencies. If the nominator takes no action within this time period, the nomination will no longer be considered. The Kansas Arts Commission will accept up to two resubmissions of the nomination. If, after two resubmissions, the nomination is still deficient, it will no longer be eligible.
