Kansas Arts Commission

Arts-in-Education Grant Program Guidelines

Application Deadline: April 14, 2011

The Kansas Arts Commission’s Arts-in-Education Programs support innovative, structured arts-learning experiences for Kansas children from birth through the 12th grade. The arts are a proven and vital component of education, and a core part of 21st-century workforce skills.

Through these grants, the Commission supports programs:

  • That are responsive to children, classroom and community needs

  • That utilize proven methods of learning and evaluation

  • That integrate the arts into the everyday lives of children to educate the whole child

  • That integrate the arts into classroom curricula

  • That are in alignment with the Kansas Arts Commission’s arts learning goals.

For Fiscal Year 2011, the Kansas Arts Commission offers two Arts-in-Education grant programs:

Arts Learning Program – for arts and cultural nonprofit organizations or government arts agencies with previous fiscal year budgets under $350,000 or non-arts organizations or agencies of any budget size

Arts Leadership Program – for nonprofit arts organizations or government arts agencies with previous fiscal year budgets over $350,000

Both programs are competitive; advisory panels recommend funding.
