American Masterpieces

The application deadline for American Masterpieces Grants has passed. Revised guidelines for fiscal year 2010 will be available January 5, 2009, and the deadline to receive applications is April 2, 2009. Grant workshops will be held in January 2009.

The Kansas Arts Commission invites Kansas nonprofit organizations or government agencies to submit proposals for projects that celebrate and provide opportunities for the public in Kansas to experience the work of American master artists during Fiscal Year 2009 (July 1, 2008 – June 30, 2009).

American Masterpieces funding is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Kansas Arts Commission, which selects the program to be funded. Funding for Fiscal Year 2009 is anticipated to be approximately $10,000 – $40,000 and must be matched 1:1 by the partnering organization.

The Kansas Arts Commission suggests that before submitting proposals, organizations or agencies speak with the executive director of the Kansas Arts Commission to determine if the proposed project is in alignment with the goals and objectives of both the American Masterpieces program and the Kansas Arts Commission’s strategic plan.
