Kansas Arts Commission

Fiscal Year 2012 Artist Development and Community Collaboration Grants

Application Deadline: April 7, 2011

The Kansas Arts Commission recognizes the important roles that artists play in making our state more vital. We support their endeavors through this grant program that funds artist-initiated projects occurring between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012.

  • Artist Development Grants encourage artists to further their business and artistic skills to advance their careers.

  • Artist Community Collaboration Grants encourage artists to initiate and implement projects with organizations and communities both to benefit the public and to advance the artist’s creative work.

Program Objectives:

  • To nurture and sustain artists living in Kansas so that they may develop creatively and professionally

  • To support artists in business and creative skill development so that they may earn a living from their work

  • To enhance relationships between artists and Kansas communities

  • To encourage artists to plan and implement projects that benefit the general public.

Both programs are competitive; advisory panels recommend funding.
