Kansas Arts on Tour Roster - Traditional and Acoustic Music Ensembles

Shadow Creek

Shadow Creek

Shadow Creek’s talented players create high-spirited sounds of traditional, contemporary bluegrass and gospel music spiced with humor, old-time rock ‘n roll, patriotism and classic country.

Program Descriptions

Shadow Creek features songwriter Jim Bullard (up-tempo guitar, “high lonesome” vocals); Kathy Feryok (bluesy mandolin, nostalgic dobro, Irish flute and vocals); Nikki Feryok (high velocity violin and vocals); David Feryok (heartbeat bass, and creative twin fiddles); and Johnny Duncan (hard-drivin’ five-string banjo).

A typical concert consists of one to three 45- minute sets showcasing a variety of musical styles and well-loved tunes, tight vocal numbers and entertaining humor! Shadow Creek targets a family audience and will tailor the program and fees to the presenter’s needs. Shadow Creek is eager to visit grades K-12 to perform and teach bluegrass history and style through age appropriate workshops and residencies.

Shadow Creek can play acoustically or with a sound system provided by the band or the presenter.

Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary. — Cecil Beaton
