Samarpita Bajai
Indian Classical Dance

Samarpita Bajai

Critically acclaimed dancer Samarpita Bajpai tours with Bharantnatyam as well as a new Kuchipudi work. The Kuchipudi style hails from the Southern part of India and is characterized by its fast rhythm, lilting music and beautiful movements. Samarpita also enthralls audiences with the Mayura Kautvam. In this dance, she paints a peacock with her feet while dancing on a white screen. Samparpita is the only dancer inthe United States performing this dance. Samarpita can also be found on the rosters of Kansas City Young Audiences and the Mid-America Arts Alliance. Samparpita’s performances offer students insight into Indian culture.
