Award-winning contemporary dance choreographers Muriel Cohan and Patrick Suzeau tour with a group of versatile dancers.

Program Descriptions

  • Kinetic Landscapes (60-90 minutes): A three-part concert of recent Cohan/Suzeau works infused with the colors, sounds and textures of other cultures. In Celestial Players, a fusion of contemporary and East Indian Classical dance, temple sculptures come alive through dazzling rhythmic patterns and complex hand gestures. Woman Song, a work with sharp accents and building force echoes he raw power and earthiness of Hedningarna, a Swedish vocal group. Winsome Wench, a witty take-off on the silent film era combines the virtues of mime and dance.
  • Speaking of Dance (45-70 minutes): Designed for community outreach, the dynamics of dance are introduced through dialogue and improvisation. This informal concert is informative entertainment that illustrates the power of dance and cane be adjusted to suit any age group.
  • Workshops for all ages can be woven into each residency. Half-week and week-long residences can be arranged according to the needs of the community.

Performance Fees
  • Kinetic Landscapes: $3,200
  • Speaking of Dance: $1,000
  • Master Classes/Workshops: $200
  • Choreography Commission: $2,000

Technical Requirements

  • Kinetic Landscapes: Stage of adequate dimension, sound, stage lights and adequate crew.
  • Speaking of Dance: No stage lights required and less formal spaces with sound system are acceptable.
