Poetry Out Loud
Congratulations to 2010 Kansas Poetry Out Loud State Champion Casha Mills of Shawnee Mission North High School!
Mills traveled to Washington, D.C. to compete in the national finals April 26-27, 2010, for the opportunity to win a $20,000 scholarship. The Kansas state competition was held Friday, March 12, 2010, at the Brown v Board of Education National Historic Site in Topeka.
As the state champion, Mills received $200 and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Poetry Out Loud National Finals in Washington, D.C. As the state champion's school, Shawnee Mission North High School will received a $500 stipend for the purchase of poetry books.
