Presenter Responsibilities

Artistic Presentation

  • Presenters are urged to use best business practices at all times. Commission staff is available to advise in this area.

  • Presenters understand that all works and all rights to works produced by the artist (except creative work produced by children or community members under the guidance of the artist) remain the sole property of the artist. However, the artist is expected to work with presenters to allow public release of images for educational and promotional purposes.

Arts on Tour Program

  • Presenters understand that artists programming and fees are established as published on the Kansas Arts Commission website. Roster artists may have other programs to offer that are not listed online and therefore are not eligible for underwriting.

  • Presenters are responsible for contracting with roster artists. Commission staff is available to advise in this area.

  • Presenters must book roster artists from outside the artist's home county.

  • Presenters understand that underwritten bookings may not take place inside a private dwelling.

  • A faculty member must be present during any K-12 school activity utilizing a roster artist.

  • All Kansas Arts on Tour Roster artister's fees in the application should be consistent with the artist contract(s).

  • Presenters must notify commission staff of any KAC underwritten artist and/or schedule changes or cancellations.

  • Presenters are encouraged to negotiate a reasonable cancellation clause in their roster artist contracts that releases both artist(s) and presenter(s) should Kansas Arts Commission funds not be available.

  • Presenters must complete and submit a Final Report Form and an Artist Evaluation for Kansas Arts Commission underwritten events within 30 days of the contracted event.

Kansas Arts Commission

  • The Kansas Arts Commission logo must appear in all promotional and printed materials such as programs, catalogs, posters, websites, and news releases. The following credit line must appear in all promotional and printed materials such as programs, catalogs, posters and news releases: "This program is presented in part by the Kansas Arts Commission, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts."

  • The Kansas Arts Commission is primarily funded by the Kansas Legislature. Presenters are urged to invite and thank their legislative representatives for their support of any programming funded by the Commission.

  • Violation of these presenter responsibilities could jeopardize future funding opportunities through this program.
