A Reception and Symposium Open to the Public

Join the Kansas Arts Commission for a reception and symposium on how artists live and work in Kansas.

Panelists include:

  • Leslie Cady, theatre artist of Jay and Leslie's Laughing Matters

  • Lacey Lewis, visual artist

  • Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg, Poet Laureate of Kansas

  • Roger Pitts, musician

  • Susan Rieger, artistic director and choreographer of the 940 Dance Company

  • Michael Toombs, community artist of Storytellers, Inc.

The symposium will be moderated by Saralyn Reece Hardy, director of the Spencer Museum of Art.

The reception begins at 5:30 pm, with the panel discussion featuring community artists beginning at 6:15 pm.

Enjoy the art exhibition, As Above So Below, by Aaron Sutton in the 6th St. Gallery.

Seating is limited and reservations are required.

Free parking is available in the open air lot at the northwest corner of 6th and State Streets.
